Welcome, I has no cookies for you, sorry :(

Thank you for visiting my portfolio. With 14 years of experience in IT and systems administration, I bring a wealth of knowledge and versatility to every project I undertake. My core expertise lies in coding, system integration, and automation, but troubleshooting is truly the cornerstone of my career. I pride myself on being a cross-platform administrator, working seamlessly across Windows, Linux, macOS, Unix, and other operating systems. My skills extend to the operations side of infrastructure, where I specialize in monitoring, automating workflows, and simplifying complex tasks using tools like PowerShell, Python, Perl, and Ansible. Many think of system administrators as focusing solely on servers, but my capabilities span network appliances, diverse platforms, and systems. This breadth of experience is why I describe my skill set as a 'rainbow'—a diverse spectrum of tools and knowledge that allows me to tackle challenges in nearly any environment.

History

Over the years, I’ve honed my skills by working with a wide variety of networks, devices, and applications. My career began at Bright House Networks as a Help Desk Technician, where I earned my CompTIA A+ certification while attending DeVry University. My passion for understanding systems at their core led me to skip the Network+ certification and pursue the Security+ certification, fueling my interest in coding. Self-taught in Java during my time at Bright House, I began exploring new opportunities to deepen my technical expertise. This curiosity inspired me to open a small computer repair shop, where I built and repaired computers, applying my A+ knowledge to provide reliable solutions. Shortly after, I joined B-Scada as a Testing and Network Analyst, where I expanded my PowerShell skills, utilizing tools like Invoke-WebRequest to automate testing processes using tokens and advanced authentication methods. B-Scada supported my growth, offering C# training as I transitioned into a developer role. Unfortunately, contract challenges led to my departure from the company.Next, I joined Apex Systems as a Lead Systems Administrator. My role involved resolving ticket queues, deploying Windows 10 devices, and traveling between bases to support teams. When offered an opportunity at Tinker Air Force Base, I relocated to Oklahoma. After Apex's contract ended, Croop-LaFrance retained me as a Tier 3 Systems Administrator, relocating me permanently to Oklahoma. I later transitioned to Chickasaw Nation Industries (CNI) when they acquired the contract. At CNI, I leveraged my expertise in automation and web development to design tools and scripts that significantly improved efficiency for Tinker’s IT departments. These contributions earned me a promotion to Web Developer. During the pandemic, organizational downsizing shifted priorities, and I was eventually laid off.Following this, I became the sole Systems Administrator at Eucalyptus Real Estate, supporting over 200 properties across Oklahoma and Kansas. My role encompassed everything from laying network cables to configuring firewalls for secure, site-to-site connections. The extensive travel led me to seek more centralized opportunities, which I found at 3Nines Technologies. At 3Nines, I served as a Desktop Engineer, resolving remote technical issues, onboarding new client companies, and automating workflows. After two years, I joined CompSource Mutual, where I advanced my automation skills in PowerShell, Bash, and Perl, ran automations through JAMS, monitored systems with SolarWinds, and managed Linux servers. The project-driven environment allowed me to lead initiatives in application development and infrastructure deployment. Each step in my journey has strengthened my technical expertise and reinforced my dedication to solving complex challenges. From automation and development to systems administration and network configuration, I’ve cultivated a diverse skill set that allows me to adapt to any technical environment.
